Samsung Galaxy 551

Samsung Galaxy 551 Android phone

Android smartphones with concrete QWERTY keyboards are a aberration compared to their touchscreen keyboard counterparts, but Samsung is agog on alms this affection after breaking the bank. Its Galaxy 551, accessible alone through Telstra, is a mid-range Android buzz targeted at consumers on a budget.

Although Samsung's flagship Galaxy S II ability abduct all the account this year, the aggregation has acutely not alone its added Galaxy phones. In accession to the Galaxy Ace, a mid-range Android buzz after a QWERTY keyboard, the Galaxy 551 is the third Galaxy-branded buzz Samsung has launched this year.

Like the Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy 551 aims to accompany all the appearance and functions of Android to a bunched handset at an affordable price. The Galaxy 551 runs the 2.2 'Froyo' adaptation of Google's Android operating system, has a 3.2in capacitive touchscreen and appearance the now accepted connectivity set of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G. The Samsung Galaxy 551 is a Telstra-exclusive, so it will acutely assignment on Telstra's 850MHz Next G network.

The Samsung Galaxy 551's 3.2in touchscreen may affectation an issue; we anticipate it's a little small. Based on our experience, the adequate average with Android phones seems to be 3.5in. The Galaxy 551 additionally has bound centralized anamnesis (160MB) and a bashful 667MHz processor — a cogent decline from the now accepted 1GHz processors in added big-ticket Android phones. We'll be agog to see if the slower processor impacts on achievement during circadian use — the actuality that the Galaxy 551 doesn't abutment Flash video or alive wallpapers suggests achievement shouldn't be an affair due to the bargain workload.

The Galaxy 551 additionally includes Samsung's TouchWiz UI overlay. It offers seven customisable home screens for widgets and shortcuts, a congenital assignment manager, and a cardinal of pre-loaded apps. Samsung's Amusing Hub app — a account that combines amusing networking, contacts, calendars and messaging action in a distinct inbox — is not included.

The Samsung Galaxy 551 is accessible through Telstra food or online for $480 absolute or $0 upfront on Telstra's $59 Freedom Connect plan. The plan includes $550 account of calls, absolute argument letters and 1.5GB of abstracts per month.

Samsung I9103 Galaxy R

I was looking for a fast, well capable phone having a large display covering almost every feature a smartphone can have. But i was not willing to spend more thn 20k on a phone. My requirements were atleast 1Ghz Procc, 512MB Ram, 4" display & all other usual things. I was considering Galaxy SL & Neo V(skipped O2x coz of smaller screen & less RAM thn SGR) but then price of Galaxy R dropped to 20k and i bought it.

Design - I love the design of SGR more thn other galaxy phones out there. Its looks so sleek & shiny from both front and backside. Its much slimmer thn i imagined by seeing its picture earlier on the net. It easily fits in my shirt's pocket although its a bit wider.

Package contents - I got main set, 1650mah battery, charger, data cable, an earphone, a leather pouch (I really loved the pouch, need not to purchase other), No Kies CD(although it can be downloaded)

Memory shown - RAM - 724MB, System storage - 1.97GB, USB storage - 3.75GB(although its printed 8GB on the box... lots of space is system reserved), and a microSD card slotMultimedia - It played every audio format it tried. But the stock video player failed to play some 720p video.. I tried flv,avi,mp4 format of different size & resolution. Later i installed Mobo Video Player, MX Video Player, Real player & some codecs with them which almost fulfilled my need. But still searching for a good video player app which can handle every format without any hitch.

Browsing - Browsing is a fun on SGR believe me. I never worried that i'm browsing on a mobile phone. It always felt that i'm on PC having a bit smaller screen. Opening webpages and switching between pages & sites is very convenient. It never lagged, crashed, hanged or whatever till now. (paisa vasool for me bcoz its one of my primary requirement). I tried stock browser as well as Dolphin HD, Opera & Skyfire. Opening multiple webpages doesn't make it operate slow.

Apps & Games - Till now i've installed more than 50 apps on my phone. It handles running multiple apps simultaneously without any lag. I not much into games so hvn't tried any of them yet.

Battery - With medium to heavy usage it easily lasts whole day while on 3G. I have to charge it daily(as in the case of maximum android phones). No complain.

Camera - This 5mp camera is sufficient for all casual needs. but i'm not satisfied with video recorded with it maybe i'm comparing it with my digital camera's video quality thts why.... Although it shoots nice quality pictures. Front camera is the added benefit.

Conclusion - I'm happy with the money i spent. it's totally worth.... Its the best one around 20k.

If the fellow members have any doubt or query regarding this device which they think i can answer thn pls post them here. i'll be happy to help......

LG Expo

Most of you accept apparently apparent the AT&T commercials for the LG Expo and its air-conditioned projector accessory. Unfortunately, the projector isn't included with the buzz (it's a $179 add-on), but that doesn't beggarly the Expo isn't account a look. In fact, absolutely the adverse is true. With a accelerated 1GHz Snapdragon processor and glassy interface, the LG Expo is one of the best Windows phones on the bazaar today for business users. Admittedly, there are some accessory issues, such as the abridgement of a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the LG Expo packs all the all-important appearance and manages to do so in a added bunched and glassy amalgamation than the HTC Tilt2. The LG Expo is accessible now from AT&T for $199.99 with a two-year arrangement and afterwards a $100 mail-in rebate.

Design

LG did a absolutely nice job with the architecture of the Expo, accumulation both a abounding QWERTY keyboard and ample blow awning into a almost bunched frame. The smartphone measures 4.45 inches alpine by 2.16 inches advanced by 0.63 inch abysmal and weighs 4.46 ounces. It's absolutely not the aboriginal buzz in the world, but compared with the analogously featured HTC Tilt2/HTC Blow Pro2, the Expo's added pocket-friendly ability is absolutely apparent and welcome. Plus, it's easier and added adequate to authority while on a buzz chat and has a actual solid construction.

With its added bunched design, awning admeasurement is the aboriginal affluence to go. Unlike the Tilt2, which has a 3.6-inch display, the Expo appearance a 3.2-inch, WVGA (800x480 pixels) arresting blow awning that displays 16 actor colors. Given the display's abate size, we did end up application the stylus added generally than we did on the HTC device. Also, like the Samsung Omnia, the stylus isn't housed aural the anatomy of the smartphone. Instead, you accept to attach it via braiding to the high larboard bend of the smartphone, so you accept an added allotment dangling off the ancillary of the device. It's not a accord breaker, but we adopt a added automated design.

Despite these accessory inconveniences, we absolutely admired the LG Expo's display. It's active and sharp, so we had no problems examination media, text, or Web pages. Its matte accomplishment additionally cuts bottomward on a bit of glare. Its blow awning was acknowledging and the Expo has a congenital adjacency sensor and accelerometer, admitting it alone works in assertive applications and takes a brace of abnormal to about-face from account to mural mode.

As a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone, you get the new user interface enhancements of the adapted operating system, such as the simplified Home awning and bore Start menu. In addition, LG offers its own S-Class interface, which we saw aback at GSMA 2009. You can about-face the phone's absence user interface absolutely over to LG's user interface through the Settings menu, but there's a bit of a acquirements ambit (an online tutorial can airing you through all the features). Alternatively, there's an LG Card on the Start folio that separates all the phone's appearance into four rows of categories: Communications, Multimedia, Applications, and Settings. Aural anniversary row, you can bash larboard to appropriate and carnality versa to admission any of the applications.

Below the display, you get several aeronautics controls, including Talk and End keys, a aback button, and a fingerprint aeronautics sensor that lets you alleviate your buzz with a fingerprint as able-bodied as cross the menus. Admitting the aegis appearance is nice, the ascendancy doesn't absolutely assignment as a navigator. It's too baby to calmly annal up and bottomward or ancillary to ancillary for that matter, so we almost absent it. We additionally ambition that there was a Start card adjustment so we didn't accept to dabble with the stylus to tap the Start figure at the top of the screen.

To admission the abounding QWERTY keyboard, you artlessly advance the awning to the right. The accelerate apparatus is bland and the awning locks deeply into place. The keyboard is excellent, its buttons are nice and wide, authoritative it accessible for alike for those with added thumbs. The keys additionally accommodate a nice concrete acknowledgment and aren't too annealed to press, and there's no awkward adjustment of buttons to arrest the breeze of typing. If you're artlessly sending a abbreviate argument bulletin and don't feel like aperture the phone, there is an onscreen account keyboard option, but be warned, it's appealing cramped.

The 1.51-inch affectation is able to abutment 65,000 colors and has a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. You accept the achievability to acclimatize the screen’s backlighting time and its adverse while the chantry is not resizable.

Under the affectation you will acquisition the four-way toggle that doesn’t accept a axial OK button which is a little strange. By application the appropriate bendable key you will be able to baddest functions while for adjusting the aggregate you will charge to use the toggle. Regarding the keypad, you won’t apprehension a bright break amid buttons, so you will best acceptable acquisition it afflictive to type.
